Have A Pint On Me

I had plans to write a story tonight, a story that is long overdue -- almost as overdue as a decision in the Minnesota Senate race.

But it was 72 and sunny here today, and the leaves are popping out all over, and the grass is that impossible neon green, and I didn't even have the heart to make dinner tonight (which was supposed to be mustard sirloin steak with roasted potatoes and asparagus) since we were outside all day and didn't come in until 6:30 PM.

So I'm bagging my original post and going instead with a giveaway. An appropriately summer-like giveaway. A giveaway I've been hoarding and maybe even hoping I would (ahem) forget about and thus get to keep all the prizes for myself.

But that's not Christian. Or right. Or health conscious.

Anyone like some ice cream?

Specifically, does anyone like Ben and Jerry's ice cream?

I have eight free pints to give away. (More correctly, I have eight certificates for a free pint of Ben & Jerry's ice cream that you can redeem at your favorite food mart. It's less messy than mailing the actual pints via the U.S. Postal Service. But it's a heckuva mouthful when it comes time to announce a contest, which might explain the tiny legalese at the bottom of ads these days, now that I think about it.)

In order to spread the joy, I've decided to give away four packages of two certificates each.

That means we'll have four winners by next Sunday.

If I was a car salesman, I might say, "That's FOUR chances to win. Four! FOUR! Four chances!"

But I'm not. So I won't.

To enter, just leave me a comment here telling me your favorite Ben & Jerry's flavor. How would you spend your wealth, if so chosen?

Tweet the contest or put it on your blog for a second entry.

And then enjoy your Monday. May God bless you with the vibrancy of spring today.

(And maybe some Ben & Jerry's to go with it.)

  2. Addendum to the contest rules: You cannot share a wireless connection with me and be eligible for this contest.

You must also EAT ice cream in order to win. Which disqualifies the I-don't-eat-sugar Mr. Love Well.

    Carry on.

  3. My absolute favorite is a flavor that has been retired - Cool Brittania. Strawberry ice cream w/ big pieces of strawberry, and little nuggets of chocolate-covered shortbread. YUM.

  4. Chunky Monkey ... simply the best!

  5. What?? Mr. Love Well doesn't eat sugar? HOW CAN THAT BE??

If I had to pick just one flavor, not totally sure I even could. So I'll give you my top two: Coffee, Coffee, Buzz, Buzz, Buzz & Mint Chocolate Chunk.
I can't even tell you how tempted I am right now to eat ice cream for breakfast!

  6. phish food! I missed the last "free cone day" at Ben and Jerry's and this would MORE than make up for it!

  7. I'm an ice cream purist. I'd just stick with plain ol' chocolate chip cookie dough.

I may link this tomorrow. I'll let you know.

  8. Sure he eats sugar. He nibbles on that Teyla kid all the time, I bet.

Chocolate chip cookie dough or mint chocolate chunk. Yum.

  10. Dave Matthews Band's Magic Brownies is my favorite. They had one a few years ago called One Sweet Whirled, and OH MAN. The goodness.

(My husband doesn't eat ice cream either. Some people are plain crazy.)

  11. I can't blame you at all -- we really earn spring in MN. It was a good day to be outside.

My favorite is half baked (half cookie dough, half brownies).

Hope you get out again today!

  12. Mmmmm....just one favorite? The Chocolate Fudge Brownie gets first place, with Mint Chocolate Chunk and Chunky Monkey taking a close second and third! :)

  13. I've never had Ben and Jerry's.
    Seriously.
I am THAT cheap. I'd like to try some though, if the contest is open to those of us who can safely store Ice Cream outside until March:)

  14. I, too, missed free cone day because my children were at varying stages of fever/cough/mucous blowout.

I love PHISH food. It is the most perfect ice cream ever created.

  15. Haha! I'm totally laughing at how this giveaway negates my current giveaway. But I still want me some ice cream!!! Last I remember Phish Food was my favorite, but I love to try new things, so I'd probably be using those certificates to get a different flavor. Fun giveaway!

  16. I suppose I should say Berry Berry Extraordinary, but I won't. Because I have to say Chunky Monkey!

  17. Wha? They actually have a flavor called BROWNIE BATTER?!?! Brownie batter is why I'm glad my husband doesn't eat anything with raw egg. Hand me a spoon - the bowl is MINE.

I've been to the B& J's plant in Vermont and all that but I guess I've been eating more generic brand ice cream lately because I've apparently been out-of-the-loop!

  18. Chocolate Therapy!! Best combo ever: chocolate and therapy! :)

  19. I know you are thinking, what a waste for Ms Nomad to enter when she's in Morocco (where she MISSES ben and jerry's thankyouverymuch), but it's not a waste. Because if I win, I will have you send the certificates to my BFF Heather, who will use them before they expire under the condition that next time we're in the US, she buys me some. So it's a win-win situation for everyone.
Fav flav? Cherry Garcia OR Dublin Mudslide. Yummmmmmmm...... WHY did you have to bring up such a painful subject?

  20. Cherry Garcia -- My latent Dead Head tendencies need an outlet somewhere.:)

  21. Considering I just single-handedly finished off the pint of Phish Food that I started yesterday, I'll have to go with Phish Food. It's heaven in a round carton, I tell you. I started working out after a month long break today, and what better reward than Ben & Jerry's?

If this doesn't surface every one of your lurkers, I don't know what will.

  22. half baked... brownies AND cookie dough, what could be better?!?!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Brownie. Batter.

    The end.

  24. No one here knows ANYTHING about Ben and Jerry's.

Pistachio Pistachio is my fave - and Chubby Hubby is my chubby hubby's fave! (It also happens to be my 2nd favorite.)

So that's how I would spend the coupons.

And I'm going to tweet it now.

  30. Kelly, I am SERIOUS about winning this contest. I just put it out on Facebook, which reaches much more of an audience for me than my blog or Twitter.

Tomorrow I'm taking out an ad in the local paper. Friday it's a billboard ad here in Denver. I hope that deserves another entry or two.

  31. Ohhh! An ice-cream giveaway. Super!!! Here are my favs...Chocolate Fudge Brownie, Phish Food, Coffee Heath Bar Crunch, and there are many others that sound wonderful!

I should say that if I win I'll share, because that would be the Christian thing to do. But let's be honest, I'm pregnant. I'm not sharing. :)
