This is How I Feel Tonight

I swear -- this week is about to kill me.

It's been one thing after another. By the end of every day, I'm exhausted -- and I feel like all I've done is run on the treadmill. Making headway is like trudging through quicksand. In searing heat and humidity. While wearing the entire cast of "Ace of Cakes" on my back.

One thing is for sure -- God is teaching me that I should incorporate the phrase "if He wills" to my verbiage and my soul. Because I control very little.

Update on Teyla (no, that picture isn't it, thankfully) will come tomorrow.

If He wills.

  1. I think someone needs a hug. And I'm pretty sure He wills that whenever, wherever, however. Good thing ~ since this is a virtual hug.

  2. Oh, poor little baby Teyla. I don't blame her-look at the tooth buds on her bottom gums. Poor baby. I wish I would scream that like sometimes. But people would look at me like I was crazy.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow. Can you give me some advice on being "overprotective"? I wrote a blog about it and you seem like a good mom with some helpful advice.

  3. Awwwww....that darlin' thing!!!! That's the maddest face ever!!

I'll bet you made her put gas in the car at the same station I had to wait in line at today.

I totally understand your level of distraught, Teyla.

  7. Perfect photo illustration.

How can she be so furious and so cute at the same time?

Hoping today is a better day, with piles of mercy and peace coming your way.

  9. That sure was a good description of how you feel. Ace of Cakes, you're funny even when you're tired and trudging.
I too hope things get a whole lot easier soonly!

Hang in there, my friend...His mercies are new every morning, right?!?

    ...feeling the same way lately...

  11. I am with you too. And my Abby does a face a whole lot like Teyla's.

I'm a new reader, and I looked in because of the name. It so fits what I've been trying to learn lately. Thanks for your great insights.

  12. I'm coming off an improved week after one of those. It comes and goes, doesn't it? Right now I feel like our lives are prime for God to do a shake up. Like something is coming, buckle up for the ride.

Hey, I'll be spending the weekend in your hood. Crowne Plaza I think. Any thoughts what to do with myself while the hubby's in meetings? Where does one shop there? I'm only ever on the other side of the river.

  13. I'm so sorry! You need cake, I think.

When I have a challenging week, I have to remind my self time and time and time again that God is in control and works all things for my good.

I'll pray that you will feel peace and that the rest of your week blows your socks off!

    In a good way.

  14. Hang in there...it can only get better, right?

Ben and Jerry's always makes me feel better! I'd come stock your freezer if you weren't so far away!

  15. Oh yes, we have no control. It would be so much easier if I would quit struggling and acting like I do have control. It is so much better when He is in control anyways.

    Hope tomorrow is better.

And she is still cute even when she is screaming!

  16. Precious picture, but Mama needs a hug, too. And a Sonic coke, maybe a piece of chocolate. I hope things settled down after a bit.

  19. I hear you and I feel you, Mama...and TGIF, even though Mom's don't get time off on weekends. I will be praying for you!

  21. I love that picture! I feel that way a bit myself.

Hope your week improves. The Arab expression for God willing is insha'allah and they say it all the time. You could pepper your conversation with that :)

  22. And this is the downfall of blogging friends. If you were close, I could zip over and help!

The other downfall being that you posted this two days ago, I'm just now seeing it and by now you could be completely fine. :-)

  23. AW. I feel that way too but I'm not nearly as cute. I hope this week goes better for you, lovey! I'll be thinking of y'all.
